Lactic acid is found in our skin making up part of the so called Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF).
But besides keeping our skin moisturised, lactic acid has other essential functions:
it helps restore ours skin’s natural pH - balancing the changes in pH that soap and water cause-, and improves its suppleness, softness and luminosity.
Lactic acid is also an effective antibacterial agent by helping to maintain the natural protective barrier of our skin.
